Before the trainees get to fun stuff, like blowing out doors, they have three days of physical training tests, combat lifesaving classes, and other basics.
The Sappers-to-be must earn of 1, possible points to graduate from the class. One of the required tasks is completing a mile march in less than three hours on Day 6. Eight hundred of the 1, points can be earned in the first two weeks of class. The instructors keep individual scores a closely guarded secret, so students won't get tempted to quit.
Ascending and rappelling a feet-high cliff on Day 7 is worth points. Trainees then learn to use their best friend: explosives. They customize C4 and detonation cord in seven configurations to variously blast their way into a building.
