It was a children's cartoon to her. There was another version of the Goth that we used to call "Arts". You'd see them in Museums in the DC area in the 80s and 90s.
They don't consider themselves "Goth" unless they're wearing black clothing replete with black lipstick.
I mean, come on, I've certainly had my libido surge when a shapely Goth chick showed up in something similar to the "Elvira" outfit, but give it a rest. And the cutting thing, I knew people that used to cut themselves, even hung out with one in high school.
